Jenna Hansen is an accomplished soprano with extensive background in both solo and ensemble performance. Her journey in music began at a young age and has blossomed into a professional career marked by numerous achievements and outstanding performances.
Hansen recently earned her Master of Music degree in Vocal Performance from California State University Fullerton in the spring of 2024. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Music with a minor in Anthropology and Geography from Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo in 2022.
Hansen currently sings as a choral artist with Choral Arts Initiative under Dr. Brandon Elliott and as a staff soprano with Pacific Chorale under Dr. Robert Istad. Hansen also started teaching voice lessons to students at Corona del Mar High School in the fall of 2024.
As an aspiring opera singer, Hansen performed leading roles in the Opera Theatre program during her two years at Cal State Fullerton. In the spring of 2023, Hansen played Mrs. Anna Maurrant in Kurt Weill’s Street Scene. The following year in the spring of 2024, she performed as Ottavia in Claudio Monteverdi’s L’incoronazione di Poppea. During the fall Opera Scenes programs, she sang in multiple scenes as principal characters. Hansen plans on auditioning for local opera companies and participating in various competitions in the greater Southern California area.
A choral music lover since her early childhood, Hansen has been singing in choir every year since she was 8 years old. Many of her worldly travel experiences have been through choir tours, engaging in cultural exchanges through music. The Sacramento Children’s Chorus toured to China in 2013 and the Baltic States (Finland, Estonia, Latvia, and Lithuania) in 2016. Cal Poly SLO’s Polyphonics choir traveled to New York to sing in Carnegie Hall in 2019 and toured Greece in 2022. Hansen was one of six students selected to travel to Nairobi, Kenya in 2019 to sing as part of a choral conducting workshop with Cal Poly SLO Choirs director, Dr. Scott Glysson. In the summer of 2024, Hansen traveled to Rwanda and South Africa with the Cal State Fullerton University Singers, directed by Dr. Robert Istad.
With a rich background in education, performance, and professional experience, Hansen continues to shine as a versatile and passionate soprano, captivating audiences with her exceptional vocal artistry.
